Privacy Statement

The short version

Hilum is an early working test. It is run by the Hilum team as a trial project — there is no company or legal entity behind it yet, and no one is selling the service. You are welcome to try it, but please treat it as a test: don’t put anything in it you can’t afford to lose, and don’t rely on it for anything critical. This statement explains what data we hold while you use the test, and how to reach us.

Who is responsible

The test is operated informally by the Hilum team. There is no registered company. For anything about your data, write to webmaster@hilum.eu.

What we collect

  • Account details — the email address and password you sign up with. Passwords are stored in hashed form; we never see them in plain text.
  • What you put into the app — the records you create while testing, such as samples, contacts, sendouts, and coverage.
  • Basic technical logs — standard information like your IP address, browser, and timestamps, kept so the test runs and so we can find and fix problems.
  • Messages you send us — if you write to us from the homepage, we keep your name, email address, and what you wrote, so we can reply.

We do not collect anything beyond what the test needs. We do not run advertising, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Cookies and analytics

We use the strictly necessary cookie that keeps you signed in, and cookieless, anonymized page-view counts (Vercel Web Analytics) to see which pages are read. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.

Where your data lives

To run the test, your data passes through a small set of infrastructure providers, each acting on our instructions:

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting (EU region).
  • Vercel and Fly.io — application hosting.
  • Resend / Brevo — sending transactional email (such as sign-in and notification messages).
  • Shippo — generating shipping labels, when you use that feature.
  • Anthropic — classifying media coverage text; no account data is sent for this purpose.

These providers process data only to make the corresponding feature work.

How long we keep it

For as long as the test account exists, or until we wind the test down. Because this is an early trial, we may reset or delete data at any time.

Your rights

Under EU data protection law (GDPR), you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask us to stop using it. Write to webmaster@hilum.eu and we will act on your request. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

As the project grows and a legal entity is formed, this statement will be replaced with a fuller version. We will post the new version here before the test becomes a real service.
